Environmental Studies Cell

 About

We expect that our structures plan of EVS study will help catalyze creative, innovative Environment study and also provide a space to student to work together more effectively. We try to highlight local environmental problems which help in sound management of natural resources to strengthen healthy climate. Environmental Studies cell have been functioning efficiently by taking necessary steps to maintain academic,social, ecological and environmental issues in an endeavor to find solutions that will benefit society as a whole. Positive role of modeling is provided in order to create responsible citizens. The Environmental Studies cell has been continuing its efforts for awareness about sustainable use of natural resources and conservation of fragile ecosystem with the student participation through various campaigns organized by our institution. Keeping in mind the teaching, learning and evaluation process, EVS Annual programme plans are prepared and transmitted to the students by faculty members at the beginning of the session. We encouraged the practice of collecting, documenting and analyzing microlevel information on social, ecological and environmental issues by distributing project titles to student’s group and getting summarize feedback in the form of report at the month of December. The titles of projects are water pollutant in Nag River, Impact of Umrer Mining on flora and fauna, SEZ in MIHAN, Organic farming in Ankur Seeds Pvt. Ltd, Roadside deforestation in Nagpur, Roadside medicinal plant in Nagpur, Eutrophication in Ambazari and Futala lake, Solid waste management in Bandewadi plant, Agropesticide contamination around Nagpur, Vegetable waste in Cotton market,Productive use of fruit waste in Kalmana market, Road traffic in Nagpur city-Problem and solution, Medical waste in Nagpur, NGOs working for Environment protection in Nagpur, etc) By providing necessary books and study materials, the faculty members have been keeping personal contact with the student to make project work more practical and implementable for Governmental & non-governmental organisations.
