Guest lecture by Dr. Manohar V. Lokhande, Department of Chemistry, Sathaye College, Mumbai on topic “Scenario of Indian Pharmacy: today and tomorrow”. Dr. Lokhande provided information about pharmaceutical companies and job perspectives in the respective companies and research institutes.

27/01/2016.Alumni student interaction: Alumni Mr. Nitesh Punyapreddiwar, NET qualified and presently pursuing research at VNIT, Nagpur interacted with the students . Mr. Nitesh Punyapreddiwar gave guidance on various carrier opportunities after M.Sc and Ph.D . Mode of preparation towards various exams like NET , SET , GATE was explained.

Date: 16/09/2016 Guest lecture on the occasion of “World Ozone Day”. Dr. Mahendra P. Patil, Senior Principal Scientist, National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur. Dr. Patil gave presentation on topic “India’s Approach on Control of Ozone Depletion”. Dr.P atil mainly talked about major international/treaties/conventions on control of ozone depletion.

10/02/2016, Chemical society organized a seminar on “ 3D Animation and VFX effects” in collaboration with Maya Academy Advanced Cinematics” (MAYA), Nagpur. Director of the MAYA academy Mr Ashay Dhomne informed students about the types of visual effects by showing various video clips.Mr Ashay Dhomne .

Date: 08/10/2016 Industrial visit to Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL),Mansar. Students were taken 180 meter down the surface by the lift. The officer in charge of the visit explained the various processes related to ore extraction.

15 /09/2015 Poster competition The department of Chemistry organized a poster competition for UG and PG students of chemistry to commemorate the “World Ozone Day” on theme “Preservation of Ozone Layer”. Mr. Anurag Mankar (B.Sc.-III) won first prize, Ms. Amruta Hadap (B.Sc.-I) was winner of second prize, Mr. Sarvesh Pandey (M,.Sc.-I) & Ms. Vishakha Taiwade (B.Sc.-II) were winner of third prize and Ms. Swati Masram won a consolation prize .
